You can delete your ALINE account at any time. This page explains how, what is removed, and what we keep and why.
From inside the app
Open ALINE, go to Settings, and tap Delete account. Deletion starts right away and usually finishes within minutes.

Include the phone number on your ALINE account. We confirm it's your account and complete the deletion within 7 days. We reply from privacy@aline.network, so check your spam folder if you don't see a confirmation.
Delete some data without deleting your account
You don't have to delete your whole account to remove things. In the app you can:
- Delete messages you've sent
- Remove documents you uploaded, such as a resume or job description
- Remove your intro video
- Change or clear your profile photo and profile details
- Turn off your public web profile in Settings
- Turn off usage analytics in Settings
For anything else, email privacy@aline.network and tell us what you'd like deleted.
What gets deleted
- Your profile: name, photos, headline, bio, work and education history, what you're looking for, and your intro video
- Your public web profile page and your QR code
- Your phone number and your sign-in record
- Photos, videos, voice notes, files and reactions you sent in chats
- Your connection requests, group memberships, event RSVPs and speed networking records
- Your copies of recaps and notes
- Documents you uploaded (resumes, job descriptions, pitch decks) and the information we pulled from them
- The data we use for matching, including nearby-detection history
- Your push notification tokens and notification history
- Your referral code and referral records
- Your block list, reports you made, and reports other members made about you
- Your consent and Terms acceptance records
- The ID verification records we hold. We also ask our verification provider, Persona, to delete your verification.
What we keep, and why
- Messages you sent stay in the other person's conversation. The text stays so they don't lose their conversation history. Your name and photo are replaced with "Former member", and photos, videos, voice notes and files you sent are deleted.
- The other person's copy of a recap you made together stays with them.
- Groups you created pass to another organizer. If there isn't one, the group stays up without an owner. Cover images you uploaded stay with the group, and announcements you posted stay without your name.
- A deletion record: your account ID and when deletion started. We keep it so an old sign-in can't keep using a deleted account.
- Your public web address (aline.network/al/your-name) is retired and never given to anyone else. We keep a record of which account released it.
- Blocks other members placed on you stay on their block lists as an account ID with no profile.
- Your reason for leaving, if you chose to tell us when you deleted your account.
- Referral reward payments: the amounts and payment references, for accounting and tax. Your name and phone number are removed from them.
- Statistics that don't identify you, such as how many people use a feature.
Analytics, crash reports and logs
If you allowed usage analytics, the events we recorded (in PostHog) are linked to a scrambled version of your account ID, not to your name or phone number. They aren't deleted automatically when you delete your account. Email privacy@aline.network and we'll delete them.
Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) and our server logs expire automatically, within 90 days.
How long it takes
In-app deletion starts immediately. Your profile disappears from ALINE first, and the rest usually finishes within minutes. If something interrupts it, email privacy@aline.network and we'll finish it.
Email requests are completed within 7 days, and we email you when it's done.
