• Connections opens as a simple list again, newest first. Want it organized? The sort button in the header lets you sort by newest or oldest and group by stage, role, or shared group — each on its own line, and off by default.
• Messages has the same sort button now. Sort by newest or oldest, or flip on "Unread only" to see just what's waiting on you. The filter lives in a small menu that floats over your list instead of taking up space above it, and a little green dot on the button reminds you when a filter is on.

• Your Messages tabs are back. The "Needs you" section that replaced them was swallowing entire inboxes — everything now shows in your familiar tabs, sorted your way.

• Don't have a LinkedIn? Use your resume instead. The import screen now has a clear "use your resume instead" option right up front. Upload a resume and we'll build out your experience, education, and skills automatically, then just ask you for the few things a resume doesn't cover. Before, the resume option only appeared if a LinkedIn import failed — so if you simply didn't have a LinkedIn, your only choice was to type everything in by hand.

• Adjust framing on existing cover photos. Each photo in your group's gallery now has a re-frame option that opens the crop editor, so you can fix a banner that cut someone's head off — including photos uploaded before the crop tool existed. You can zoom out as well as in.

• Reordering is easier to find. The gallery editor now tells you to drag photos to reorder them — the feature was always there, it just never said so.

• Group video posts go through again. Some members saw their upload reach 100% and then fail with an error. Pitches, intros, and clips now post normally — no update needed, the fix is already live for everyone.

• The dots tell you whether you can walk up. The presence dots on a person's card now reflect real walk-up-able proximity — so you know at a glance whether someone is in the room or just in the area.
• Group invites ask first. Being invited to a group now sends you an invitation to accept or decline, instead of quietly adding you the moment someone taps your name.
• The LinkedIn profile you import has to be yours. A quick ownership check keeps someone else from building a profile out of your LinkedIn.
• Mark as unread, right from the conversation. Flag a thread to come back to without leaving it — it takes you straight back to your inbox.

• Group covers show the way you cropped them. Group thumbnails are landscape now, cover photos stop cutting people's heads off, and cover videos have playback controls.
• Match recommendations name the person. A recommendation now says who they are, what they offer, and what they're looking for — and recommendations no longer flood your notifications.
• LinkedIn import keeps everything. Every school comes through (not just the first few), and if your About section can't be read in full, the app asks you to paste it instead of importing half of it.

• A real LinkedIn no longer dead-ends your signup. If your profile can't be read — often because its public visibility is off — you now get a clear path forward instead of an endless retry loop.
• Photos, reactions, and voice notes are back in chats with people you've met in person.
• The Connections tabs came back, and search can finally find "fitness", a team name, or both at once. Each card now shows one clear connection count, and the met-in-person filter cleanly splits the list.
• The Messages badge matches your inbox. No more "it says 2 but I can only find 1."
• No more phantom "NEAR". A profile no longer claims someone is near you when they're in another state, and marking someone as met in person no longer hides the Message button.
• Group member videos behave. A member's video plays full screen (not half cut off), each person has one video on the rail — post again and it replaces yours — and past contests stay reachable.

• You can record another recap with someone whenever you like. Open your Line memory with them and the button is right there, above your history together. Before this, the only way to add a second one was to go back to their profile and find it.
• After you spend time with someone you have already met, we will nudge you to add a recap while the conversation is still fresh — and only if you have not already recorded one for it.

• Some of your recaps were missing from your Connections tab. They are all there now, and when you have more than one recap with the same person the card shows how many.
• We kept asking you to record a recap for people you had already recapped, no matter how many you had recorded. That reminder now stops once you have actually done it.

• Discovery cards described your current job as a past one. If you and someone both work somewhere today, the card now says you both work there, instead of calling you former colleagues. When only one of you has moved on, it stays neutral rather than guessing.
• Company names now appear exactly the way you typed them. Names like IBM and eBay were being reformatted into "Ibm" and "Ebay".

New

• A school you have in common can now be the reason on a discovery card. If you both went to the same university, the card says so, and if you are both still there, it says that instead. Your match percentage is unchanged: this only explains a match you were already getting, it never changes one.
• If you have set Education to hidden in your privacy settings, your school will not appear on anyone's card.

• A group shows you everyone when you open it. The Goal lens narrows a group's member list down to the people who match what you're looking for. It could turn itself on the first time you opened a group — usually if you'd edited your goal recently — so you'd see a handful of people instead of the room. It now stays off until you flip it, which means you see everyone by default.
• Turning the lens on still sticks. If you switch the Goal lens on for a group, it stays on for that group. Your choice was never the problem — the automatic one was.

New

• Group cover galleries. Group admins can post up to five photos or videos on a group's cover, swipeable like a photo carousel — a much richer way to represent a group at a glance.
• Documents on your profile. Your resume, pitch deck, investor thesis, or job posts can now show on your profile, and other people can download the original file. New privacy controls in Settings › Privacy › Documents let you show each type to Everyone, After connect, or Hidden.
• A priority inbox in Messages. The two or three conversations that need you — unread, they aline'd you back recently, or they read your last message but haven't replied — float to the top under "Needs you." Everything else stays quiet under "Everything else." Snooze a thread from its context menu; it comes back when they message.
• Connections as a browsable network. The Lines / Connected / Pending split is replaced by stage sections — Say hi, Talking, Out of touch. One Lens control re-slices by role or by the group where you met. Pending requests move into a compact action row.
• A quicker way to say who you want to meet, right on Discovery. Some users will see a "who do you want to meet" bar directly on the Discovery screen — tap or hold to talk it out, save, and your feed re-ranks.
• Refer a friend at the right moment. Once you've made real connections (3, then 10, then 25), you'll get a friendly nudge to invite someone who could use ALINE — laid off, starting something new, new in town — with your invite link ready to share.
• Group edit history for admins. Every time a manager changes a group's settings, it shows up in Edit history so the whole management team can see what changed, when, and by whom.

• Proximity notifications finally say who and why. Instead of "Tanya is nearby," you'll see "Tanya (Founder) is nearby — 87% match · within 50 ft. They're looking for what you offer." Same for BLE and group-join alerts.
• Every card answers "why this person?" at a glance. Discovery cards, group member cards, and profile pages now show match %, distance, how many connections you have in common, and how many groups you're in together — all in one quiet line. Tap the shared-connections or shared-groups count to see them by name.
• A nudge when you're picking too many roles. If you select four or more roles under "who you want to meet," you'll see a gentle hint that broad picks match almost everyone — the one or two roles that matter most get you the strongest results.
• Travel banner moved lower. The "Heading to ? EXPLORE" prompt no longer crowds the top of Discovery; it sits under your Intros reel where it's easy to scroll past when you're not planning a trip.

• Pitch decks upload even when they're image-based PDFs. Deck exports from Canva, Keynote, or Figma — anything without an embedded text layer — now upload fine and get read visually.
• Group cover photos no longer freeze the app. Picking a very large photo (a 48MP shot or a stitched panorama) used to lock the app for a beat. It's smooth now.
• Travel notifications open the right screen. Tapping a "will be in " announcement now lands you on the trip details, not on a dead-end "match unavailable."
• Match % shows on the profile you land on from a match alert. If someone matched you at 92%, tapping the alert to open their profile now shows the score right on the page.

When you're physically inside the zone, three things happen at once: you disappear from other users' Discovery feeds, your BLE pings stop, and your precise location stops uploading. A green dot on your Profile tab tells you privacy mode is active.

• The notification inbox also captures pushes from saved alerts and proximity intent alerts.

Fixed

• Discovery tab icon shows on iOS 16 again. A SwiftUI icon name we used was iOS 17+, leaving the Discovery tab blank on older devices. Swapped to one that's been around longer - and reads more accurately as the proximity-discovery metaphor you'd expect.
• "Couldn't accept - please try again" now tells you what actually went wrong. Tapping Accept on a pending Aline used to hide four very different problems behind one vague error. Now you'll see something specific: the other person withdrew, you're already connected, the request expired, or it's truly retryable.

Improved

• Looking for a job? Matching gets it now. If your intent says "Looking for a full-time job as AI engineer," ALINE used to match you with other AI engineers - exactly the wrong people. The matcher now distinguishes between "I want to meet someone in role X" and "I want to be hired as role X," and routes you to founders, CTOs, and hiring managers when you're job-seeking.

New

• Optimistic Send Aline. The Send Aline flow now feels instant. The person disappears from Discovery and a Pending row appears in Lines the moment you tap Send - no waiting for the round trip. If something fails, the state reverts automatically.
• Lines tab opens to ALINED. The first thing you see is the people who actually connected with you, not your pending outbox. The Pending segment is still one tap away.
• "Looking for: …" preview on Lines cards. The same intent preview you see on Discovery cards now shows on ALINED and Pending too, so you remember what each person is looking for.

Fixed

• Long "Ask me about" prompts no longer get cut off. Sentence-length prompts now wrap inside the chip instead of clipping past the edge of the screen.
• Camera-roll video intros actually upload. Picking a video from your library used to close the picker silently with no upload. Now it works, and if anything does go wrong you'll see a real error message with a Retake option.

New

• Four-chapter new user tour. Right after onboarding, ALINE walks you through how it works in ~4 minutes: how Discovery works, how to connect in person with QR, how to sharpen your card, and a quick tour of Speed Networking and Line Memory. Each step spotlights a real UI element with a narration card - no fake screenshots, no carousels.
• Skip whenever you want. A ✕ on every card lets you skip a single chapter, the whole tour, or just close it. We'll re-show one-shot coachmarks the first time you hit Send Aline, the QR display, Video Intro, Speed Networking, or Line Memory - so the important things still get explained.
• Replay it any time. Settings → Take the Tour starts the whole thing over from the beginning.

Improved

• During the tour, tab swipes and tab-bar taps are paused so you can't accidentally swipe out of the sequence.
• Coachmarks survive app restarts - if you skipped the tour Tuesday and tap Send Aline for the first time Thursday, you'll still get the explanation.
