Terms of Service

Welcome to ALINE. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the ALINE mobile application and website (the "Service"), operated by ALINE Inc. ("ALINE," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use ALINE. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

2. Account Registration

To use ALINE, you must create an account and provide accurate, complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

3. Acceptable Use

ALINE is a professional networking platform. You agree to use the Service only for lawful, professional purposes. You agree not to:

• Use ALINE for dating, romantic solicitation, or any non-professional purpose
• Harass, threaten, intimidate, or harm other users
• Impersonate any person or misrepresent your professional identity
• Post or transmit content that is defamatory, obscene, fraudulent, or otherwise objectionable
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the app
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
• Circumvent any security features, including proximity detection mechanisms
• Collect personal information of other users without their consent

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Proximity & Visibility

ALINE uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), GPS, and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technologies to detect nearby users. Proximity detection is only active during user-initiated visibility sessions. By going visible, you consent to being detected by other nearby ALINE users and to having your professional profile information used for matching purposes.

5. Matching & Anonymous Chat

ALINE uses AI-powered matching to connect you with nearby professionals based on role, intent, and interests. Chat begins anonymously. Identity is revealed only through mutual consent via the app's reveal feature. You agree not to share another user's revealed identity or private information outside the app without their explicit permission.

6. Content & Conduct

You retain ownership of content you post on ALINE. By submitting content, you grant ALINE a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with operating and improving the Service. We may use automated tools and AI to moderate content for safety and policy compliance.

7. Premium Features & Payments

ALINE may offer premium features through in-app subscriptions managed by RevenueCat and processed through Apple App Store or Google Play. Subscription terms, pricing, and billing cycles are presented at the time of purchase. Refunds are subject to the policies of the applicable app store.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, features, branding, and content (excluding user-generated content), is owned by ALINE Inc. and protected by intellectual property laws. "ALINE" and associated logos are trademarks of ALINE Inc. You may not use our trademarks without prior written permission.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We do not endorse, verify, or guarantee the accuracy of any user's professional information or identity. You use the Service and interact with other users at your own risk.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ALINE Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to ALINE in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ALINE Inc., its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the app. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our discretion, with or without notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

15. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You agree to waive any right to participate in class action lawsuits or class-wide arbitration.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
